Our last Calgary Jazz Orchestra Concert is coming up June 14th! The NWSC Chorus and the CJO are sounding INCREDIBLE in rehearsal and we can't wait to premiere Suite Jubilation by Johnny Summers! Influenced by the the music of Maria
Schneider; Duke Ellington's sacred concerts, Wynton Marsalis; and John Coltrane's A Love Supreme Suite Jubilation is an 11 movement work that transcends through multiple styles and colours of music to feature the musicians of the CJO and the 40 voice NWSC Choir.
For the first half we are exploring the music of Dave Brubeck arranged by Greg Baker, Shane Statz and Johnny Summers. Music from Time Out, the second highest selling jazz record of all time, like Take Five and
Blue Rondo a la Turk, and other great standards of Brubeck's will be performed!
